Languages I use, speak, and want to learn
I use a lot of different programming languages, but I’m most comfortable with PHP and Rust. Here’s a list of the languages I use, speak, and want to learn.
Designing
HTML / HTML5
The foundation of the web. I use HTML to build the structure of websites I design and build.
CSS / CSS3
Ah, CSS. The language that makes the web beautiful. I use CSS to style the websites I design and build.
JavaScript
JavaScript is the language of the web. I use JavaScript to add interactivity to my websites, from simple animations to complex demos.
React.js
React is a JavaScript library for building user interfaces. I use React to build some of the user interfaces of websites I build.
Programming
PHP
PHP is a general-purpose scripting language that is especially suited to web development. It’s one of my personal favorites due to its flexibility and ease of use.
Python
I use python primarily for data science and machine learning projects. Sometimes I use it for web development (but that’s) rare!
Rust
Rust is a systems programming language that runs blazingly fast, prevents segfaults, and guarantees thread safety. I use Rust for building command-line tools and API servers.
C#
C# is a general-purpose, multi-paradigm programming language encompassing strong typing, imperative, declarative, functional, generic, object-oriented (class-based), and component-oriented programming disciplines. (That’s a mouthful!)
Go
Go is an open source programming language that makes it easy to build simple, reliable, and efficient software. I use Go for building command-line tools and API servers.
JavaScript
Altough I use JavaScript for web development, I also use it for building command-line tools and API servers.
Speaking
English
I speak English fluently. I don’t really know what more I can say about it!
French
I don’t exactly speak French fluently, but I can get by in a conversation. Probably not really ready to go to Paris just yet, though!
Ukrainian
I also speak Ukrainian fluently. My parents are from Ukraine, after all!
Future Languages
Korean
I want to learn Korean because I think it’s a beautiful language. And altough I did learn a reasonable amount of Korean... by now I’ve forgotten most of it!
